To answer the question Nutrition is a vital part of our fitness and health journey. Nutrition is the foundation of what our bodies require to function daily. Our nutritional requirements will shift and change depending on our lifestyles and goals. Simply put nutrition is like the gasoline that keeps our bodies running – the better the quality, the better and longer our vehicle will run.
Many underestimate the power of nutrition and fitness. I strongly believe that both are crucial, but good nutrition is the foundation of optimal health. What we put in our bodies can greatly impact how we function the next day and years to come. It is important to understand that fitness paired with nutrition is not just a choice it's an investment in your future. Every day we are blessed to wake up the deposit — and the way we nourish and move our bodies becomes the withdrawals that shape our health over time. Let's take a moment to consider this analogy. When we work, we look forward to and payday, and if we've spent all our money before payday, we feel down and out until we receive our next deposit. We feel even worse if we've spent our money on things we shouldn't have while waiting for the next deposit.
Now let’s look at this through the lens of nutrition. Every day we wake up is like payday, and the food we eat is equivalent to our spending. The quality of the food we choose is what builds our internal wealth. To create that kind of wealth, we must ensure that most of our food choices positively impact our well‑being. If we decide every morning that waking up is “our daily deposit,” and we choose to make good investments through “our food choices,” then as we get older, we’ll experience a better quality of life — our version of “generational wealth. By focusing on our nutritional journey, we are also setting an example for our children and teaching them how to make healthy choices — passing those habits down for generations to come.
This to me is the epitome of generational wealth that extended beyond financial wealth. In my opinion without generational health, there can be no generational or financial wealth. I believe in addressing generational trauma emotionally and nutritionally because, without good health for ourselves and our families, our potential is limited.
There are numerous ailments that people and their children suffer from, all of which can be avoided with proper nutrition. It saddens me to see families where both parents and children suffer from obesity, perpetuating a cycle across generations due to lack of wisdom on how to break it. Knowledge plays a significant role in generational well-being, including financial, mental, and nutritional health. Many individuals struggle to find a starting point or seek the necessary help and support.
Lets Narrow it Down
This is why I find beauty in being a Certified Nutrition Coach. With an overwhelming amount of information about health and fitness, it's easy to get lost. It is easy to get overwhelmed when trying to navigate the path of our nutritional and fitness journeys. When we do not see the desired results, it increases the chances of us giving up on our goals. This is where a Certified Nutrition Coach can help you navigate that journey. Let's face it, if it were easy, we wouldn't be living in a society where the leading cause of death in America is directly related to nutrition. Deciding to live a healthier lifestyle requires more than just making a decision; it involves many moving parts to be successful.
Learning about nutrition and fitness is fascinating and enjoyable to me, and I thrive on the abundance of knowledge available. If you ever feel overwhelmed, I’m here to help you navigate the sea of information and get started on your journey. If this is something you struggle with or you want someone to walk that journey with you, I would love to be part of your fitness journey. My love for nutrition is why I created this space — to share what I’ve learned with anyone who is beginning or currently on their own journey to better their life.
Put it into Perspective
To help put it into perspective, according to an article from the University of Michigan titled "Michigan Medicine" approximately 90 percent of people who lose a significant amount of weight eventually regain almost all of it. So, how can we become part of the 10 percent who successfully lose weight and keep it off? There are things we must understand and tools we need to consistently apply in order to become—and remain—a part of that 10 percent. A Certified Nutrition Coach can offer the stability, guidance, and tools necessary to empower you throughout your journey.
It is important to realize that you do not have to take this journey alone. It is completely okay to ask for support in your fitness journey. Health is often a topic many people prefer not to address or explore, but in my opinion, it’s something we should confront directly if we want to live our best possible lives. By focusing on our internal well‑being rather than our external appearance, we can reclaim our power and thrive in many areas of life. I often wish I had created this lifestyle for myself much earlier, but like everything else, it’s a process and a journey. No matter how long it took us to arrive at this point, we should always take pride in the effort it took to get here—and continue navigating our journey with that same mindset.
